The battle of Yorktown started in the fall of 1781.It was in Virginia. Also some of the generals were George Washington (colonists), Lord Cornwallis (English),and De Rochambeau (French).The Americans, the French and the British fought in the war. The French and the Americans won!!! It was important because it ended the revolution!
